Wood Fish Sculpture

There will always be a demand for fine artwork, for which our wood sculptures qualify, but there are other reasons why wood fish sculptures will grow in demand and value. The primary reason is that traditional "skin mounts" require that the fish be killed in order for the taxidermist to do his job. In this era of catch-and-release it is unthinkable to kill a beautiful trophy fish. A second reason is that skin mounts are subject to cracking and structural failure in time. Many fishermen and women are turning to fiberglass replications as an alternative and this is superior in most ways to a skin mount but the fiberglass form is one-size-fits-all and your mount will be identical to someone else with nothing unique in the body of the fish. A wood sculpture on the other hand is absolutely unique. There will never be anything exactly like it - ever. It is also a work of art, signed by the artist. There will be cracks here and there in the wood and it will be obvious that the fish came from wood but that will enhance the uniqueness and beauty of the work. All wood is Juniper Pine from a forest fire in the early 2000's. The trees have been dead and drying for years and most of the trees are over 100 years old. Pricing for the fish sculpture is $50 per lineal inch. You do not pay for the wood that may extend on either side of the fish. You pay only for the actual inches of fish that are created. With pricing similar to skin mounting taxidermy it is a wise choice to go with fish sculpture from 1Wildlifeartist.com!

To order a fish sculpture from us please submit as many photos as you can. A length measurement is required and a girth measurement would be nice but is not absolutely necessary. German Brown trout are prolific in much of the world and are especially popular in the United States. This unique sculpture features 4 "browns" rushing upriver. Since these fish love to dine on other fish, the small one had better be careful swimming with the big guys! This beautiful and one-of-a-kind work is available for just $600.00. Size is 8"x14".

The "Fish Table" with the glass top by the fireplace is truly unique. This work represents over 400 hours of tedious labor. There are 12 fish represented in the piece: 6 Rainbow trout, 2 German Brown trout, 2 Brook trout, and 2 Colorado Cutthroat, 1 in spawning color and the other in regular coloration. The dimensions are 24 inches in height, 36 inches at the widest point at the base by 26 inches with a round beveled glass top of 24 inches in diameter.

The burned Juniper tree that is pictured is where the wood came from and you can see a small image superimposed on the tree it's self (upside down) to show you where the wood actually came from. The tree rings exceed 120 years of age and each fish comes from a branch of the tree. There will never be another work of art like it and this piece of art will be the talking point of many conversations.

This is the tree where the wood for the Fish Table came from.

Price: $10,000
